Why every order starts in Fife

There's no StickyPortraits shopfront to walk into, no warehouse, no customer service line that puts you on hold. Every order that comes in is packed by hand, on a kitchen table in Kirkcaldy, Fife, by someone who actually looks at the photo before it goes to print.

That's a deliberate choice, not a limitation we're waiting to grow out of. A small, hands-on operation means someone genuinely checks each photo before it's printed, catches the ones that are too dark or too low-resolution before they become a disappointing magnet, and packs each order knowing it's going to someone's actual fridge, not a fulfilment statistic.

It also means being upfront about what that involves. Orders are usually dispatched within 2-3 working days, not same-day, because there's one person checking and packing them, not a warehouse floor. It means the shipping cost is a flat, honest number, not padded to cover overheads a small kitchen-table business doesn't have.

Being based in Fife also means being close to a lot of the places our orders end up: Dunfermline and Glenrothes are a short drive away, Edinburgh and Dundee aren't far past that, and from there it's the same UK post to Glasgow, Perth, or anywhere else in Scotland, England, Wales or Northern Ireland. Wherever the order's headed, it starts the same way, checked, packed, and posted from the same table it always has been.
